Angelina Garcia of East Chicago, IN passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2017 at the age of 95.  Angelina was born September 15, 1921 in Chavinda, Michoacan, Mexico to Luis Garcia and Ma. de Jesus Alvarez. She was married to Jose Solorio.  Angelina is survived by her 2 daughters, Ma. Guadalupe (Jesus) Melendez and Carmen (Benjamin) Montemayor; brother, Alfonso; sister in-law, Ma. Elena; grandchildren: Irma (Jesus), Mary, Rocio (Martin), Juan Carlos (Alma), Jesus (Rosa), Martha (Carlos), Carmen, Elizabeth and Angelica; 28 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and god children.  Angelina was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Juan, Luis and Francisco; sisters, Ana and Maria; son, Luis; grandson, Benjamin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February18, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Carlos Martinez officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2017 and from 12:00 noon until time of Mass at the Church on Saturday.

Angelina loved to laugh, sing, dance, cook, knit and make friends.  She bravely took on the role of both Mother and Father to her children.  Angelina was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church since 1959 where she was a Guadalupana.  She worked for many years for the priests at the Sacred Heart.  The family would like to thank Fr. Carlos Martinez and Fr.
