Dana K. Del Real (nee Diaz), age 34 of Munster, IN passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016.  She is survived by her devoted husband of 11 years, Eric Del Real; 5 loving children: Scarlett, Sabrina, Sebastian, Simon and Silas; cherished daughter of Victor Diaz and Terri (Tom) Barber; proud maternal grandmother, Mary Knaver; mother and father in-law, Lilia and Baudelio Del Real; in-laws, Crystal Del Real and Jason (late Tara) Sermino;  adoring nieces, Victoria and Violet Sermino; pet dogs, Rambo and Rocky.  Preceded in death by her sister, Tara Sermino in 2015 and grandfather, Frank G. Knaver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Charles A. Mosley officiating.  Friends may meet with the family from 9:00 am until time of Mass at the Church on Friday morning.

Dana wrote numerous blogs under the name “Behind the Lemon Door” about many topics, including Motherhood, Mental Health and Childhood Bullying.  She loved writing music and singing.
