Doña Carmen Valenzuela, age 79, of East Chicago, Indiana passed away Monday, May 23, 2016.  Doña Carmen is survived by 2 sons:  Javier (Dominga) Valenzuela and Noe (Shamica) Valenzuela; 6 grandchildren:  Javier, Jr., Maria Del Carmen and Brianna Rhea Valenzuela, and Crystal Marie Garcia and Ariel Jasmyn Valenzuela and Isabella Valenzuela; 1 great-grandchild, Connor Mason Buckels; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.  Preceded in death by husband, Miguel C. Valenzuela; parents: Rosendo and Ramona; granddaughter, Kaylee Esperanza Valenzuela; and 2 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 beginning at 9:15 am from FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN and a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar St., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Carlos Martinez officiating.  Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME.

Doña Carmen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly; a devout Catholic and Church goer; an avid bingo player. She was the owner of El Patio Restaurant in East Chicago for over 37 years.
