Edna Jean (Fife) Lescak

Edna Jean Lescak (nee Fife), age 86 of Dyer, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away Monday, March 12, 2018.  She is survived by 3 children: Elizabeth Lescak, Michael (Anna) Lescak and Marilu (J.) Rivich; grandchildren: Caitlin, Joseph and Sarah Rivich and Geoffrey Kozlowski; son-in-law, Geoff Kozlowski; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by husband, Michael Lescak in 2006; daughter, Lori Kozlowski on March 5, 2018; grandson, Michael Stephen Kozlowski in 2014; parents, J. Harold and Alice Fife; brothers, James H. (Carole) Fife and John (Rosemarie) Fife.

Office of Christian Burial of the Byzantine Rite will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 557 West 57th Avenue, Merrillville, IN with Very Rev. Basil Hutsko officiating.  Burial to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 15, 2018 and from 9:30 until time of Service at the Church on Friday morning.  Parastas will be held 3:00 pm on Thursday.

Jean was a 1949 graduate of Bishop Noll and Clarke College, Dubuque, IA in 1953 .  She taught at the elementary level for several years before raising 4 children.  Jean loved cooking, reading,  baby sitting her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
