Ildefonso “Bri” Briones, age 83 of East Chicago, IN passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at home.  Ildefonso is survived by his 4 children: Ricardo (Genna) Briones, Martha (Alfredo) Benavidez, Denise (Daniel) Solis and Valerie Briones-Givens; 9 grandchildren: Melissa (Kurt) Briones-Grzych, Timothy Briones, Jacqueline Briones, Arianna and Alicia Givens, Patricia, Matthew, Daniel, Jr. and Benjamin Solis;  many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Ofelia in 2014; parents, Agustin and Elvira Briones; grandson, Ricky I. Briones; sister, Maria Teresa Briones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 808 W. 150th Street, East Chicago, IN with Msgr. John Siekierski officiating.  Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.  Visitation at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2016 and from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the Church on Tuesday morning.
