Javier Alvarez Lopez, age 85 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017.  Javier is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Guadalupe; and son, Javier Alvarez; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by brother, Jesus Alvarez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 beginning at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar St., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Stephen Kosinski officiating.  Burial to take place at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Zamora, Michoacán, Mexico at a later date.  Visitation will be on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN and on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass at 10:00 am at Church.
