Mariano G. Gil, Sr., age 93 of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at home.  Mariano is survived by 6 children: Anna Marie (Luis) Santellano, Mariano, Jr. (Lori) Gil, David, Tony, Frank and Peter Gil; 14 grandchildren: Mike, Matt, Tricia, Rachel, Louis, John, Steve, Marlo, Julia, Ally, Sheree, Nicole, Tyler and Paige; 6 great grandchildren: Arturo, Rafi, Gabi, Sammy, Mabel and Harvey: daughter in-law, Isabel (late Jesse) Gil; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his wife, Raquel in 1988; 2 sons, Luis Gil in 2005 and Jesse Gil in 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. John Bosco Church 7113 Columbia Avenue, Hammond, IN with Rev. John Fiore officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 and from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the Church on Friday morning.  Prayer services 7:00 pm on Thursday.
