Mary M. Mrzlak, age 91 of Highland, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017.  She is survived by 1 niece, Elaine Mrzlak; 5 nephews: Paul (Lorraine), Daniel (Isabel), William (Kathy), Peter (Chris) and Philip (Kathy) Mrzlak; 7 great nieces and 4 great nephews: Brendon, Garrett, Claire (Damien) McCaul, Madeline, Molly, Jared, Emily, Jessica, Erika, Adam and Rachel; great great niece, Aibhlinn McCaul; several cousins and friends.  Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Rose Mrzlak; brother, Vincent “Bill” Mrzlak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 808 West 150th Street, East Chicago, IN with Msgr. John Siekierski officiating.  Entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Friends may meet with the family from 9:00 am until time of Mass at the Church on Saturday morning.

Mary graduated from Loyola University and retired from Sears Roebuck Company.  She was a former member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Highland, IN and St. Mary Church, East Chicago,  IN, a member and past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Unit #369, member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #154 and a volunteer for the Red Cross during WWII.
