Rodolfo “Fito” Ontiveros, age 74 of Hammond, IN passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at home.  He is survived by 4 children: Corina Ontiveros, Rodolfo (Margarita) Ontiveros, Jr., Fabiola (Luis) Hernandez and Juvenal (Gricelda) Ontiveros; 11 grandchildren: Margarita and Erik Ontiveros and Cristian Dominguez, Ericka and Luis Hernandez, Stephanie and Alvaro Ontiveros, Christian and Joshua Ontiveros, George and Tatiana Lopez; sister, Argelia Ontiveros; step sisters and step brothers: Maricruz Arredondo Ontiveros, Alejandra Ontiveros, Almalicia Ontiveros, Rosalinda Oliveros, Marcela Ontiveros, Mary Ontiveros, Fernando Ontiveros, Tommy Ontiveros, Nely Marquez and Ignacio.  Preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza Hernandez Rivera in 1990; sisters, Bertha Maldonado and Eva Esparza.

Rodolfo was a former employee at El Taco Real in Hammond. He loved boxing and soccer and he was a good father and grandfather and he was loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 beginnging at 10:15 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with at 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1445 Hoffman Street, Hammond, IN with Rev. Erlin Y.
