Ruben David Dankert, age 48 of East Chicago, IN passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at home.  He is survived by his wife, Melinda Rivera Dankert; 3 children: Jordan Dankert, Michael Rasmaussen and Marissa Dankert; step-son, Freddie Ortega, Jr.; mother, Elizabeth Valdez; step-father, Paul Dankert; 2 grandchildren: Michael, Jr. and Gabriella; silblings: late Paul Dankert, Michael Dankert, Matthew Dankert and Alexandra (Christina) Valdez; nieces and nephews; pet dog, “Bruno Dankert”.  Preceded in death by his father, Ruben Gonzalez, Jr. and Step-father, O.J.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 2:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2017.  Pastor Jay Callaway will hold services at 6:00 pm Monday.
