Helen R. Flores, age 89 of East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017.  She is survived by 3 children: Josie (David) Jones, Vincent (Mary Sue) Flores and Mariano (Dawn) Flores; 8 grandchildren: Manny (Pam) Jones, Liz (Jeff) Makula, Theresa Garza, Michelle Flores, Alvarez (Megan) Flores, Sr., Martin, Matthew and Christa Flores; 8 great grandchildren: Jacob Garza, Patric Schmidt, Savanna Jones, Micah and Alvie Gellert, Abella Makula, Skylar and Alvarez Flores, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins from Northwest Indiana and Laredo, Tx.; beloved friends: Margaret Jimenez, Olga Martinez, Alfredo (Maria) Flores, Augustin (Maggie)  Rodriguez, Alicia Amaya, the Larios family and the family of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Preceded in death by husband, Arturo C. Flores in 2014; parents, Manuel and Josefa Hernandez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Carlos Martinez officiating.  Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 and from 9:00 am until time of Mass at the Church on Thursday morning.
