Jose J. Hernandez, age 77 of East Chicago, IN passed away Friday, September 1, 2017.  He is survived by his wife, Maria A. Hernandez; 2 sons, Jesus R. Hernandez and Armando R. Hernandez; sisters: Otilia, Asuncion, Esperanza, Lucia, Mercedes and Catalina; brothers, Antonio and Valentin Hernandez; nieces, nephews, godchildren and brothers and sisters in-law.  Preceded in death by parents, Bernardo Hernandez and Clara (nee Cortez) Hernandez; step mother, Paula Gutierrez; sister, Martha Hernandez; brothers: Rito, Ramon and Urbano Hernandez; father in-law, Angel Ramirez; mother in-law, Tomasita Ortega.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3520 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Carlos Martinez officiating.
