Luis A. Aguilar

Luis A. Aguilar, age 67 of Griffith, IN passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018.  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cynthia L. (nee Cisneros) Aguilar; 3 children: Salvador (Brittany) Aguilar, Adrianna (David) Gonzalez and Sofia (Nicholas) Chittenden; grandchildren: Lilian Chittenden, Lora Chittenden, Luis A. Aguilar, Alexander Gonzalez and Lea Chittenden; 4 siblings: Teresa Cabello, Salvador (Maria) Aguilar, Jr., Guadalupe (Nieves) Alcazar and Jesus Aguilar; nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Rosa Aguilar; sister, Esther Gomez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN  with Rev. Terry A. Steffens officiating.  Private cremation to follow.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 15, 2018 and from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the Church on Tuesday morning.

Luis was an employee of Arcelor  Mittal Steel Company for 48 years and a trustee and contract coordinator assigned to Civil and Human Rights Issues and Training for USW Union Local 1010.  He was also a baseball coach for several schools and organizations.  Luis was a man of integrity and always willing to help those in need.  To share an online condolence logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
