Mario R. Moreno

Mario R. Moreno, age 70 of Hammond, IN passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Martha Moreno; 6 children: late Alejandro Rene (Rocio) Moreno, Juan C. (Carmen) Moreno, Ricardo J. (Jessica) Moreno, Luisa Rodriguez, Linda (Juaquin) Valdez and Samuel Rodriguez; 7 grandchildren: Angel, Alexus, Alejandro, Diego, Vincent, Evalina and Jayden;  2 great grandsons, Aleks and Axel;  4 brothers: Juan, Gilberto, Hector and late Pablo; 5 sisters: Rosa, Silvia, Diana, Liz and Ludevina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.   Preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Moreno.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 and on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at ST. CASIMIR CHURCH, 4340 JOHNSON AVENUE, HAMMOND, IN from 9:30 am until the Mass at 10:00 am with Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating.  Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN.

Mario was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many. He lived his life with dignity and respect, and is a model for future generations to follow.  His life’s work was as a Senior Craneman at Arcelor Mittal Steel Company where he dedicated 47 years.
