Peter Anthony Ruiz

Peter Anthony Ruiz, age 61 of Florida, formally of Hammond, IN, born November 9, 1956 in Texas, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.  Preceded in death by wife Tina Marie Ruiz, mother Toni Enos, sister Wanda Alvarez, brother David Garcia and grandparents Maria and Pedro Espinosa.  Survived by ex-wife Donna Hylek of East Chicago,  and 5 children, Corrine (Selby) Butterworth of Denver,  Tanya Ruiz of Crown Point, John Wesley (Rachel) Niederer of Belleville, Amanda Ruiz Williams (Jerry Williams) of Hammond, and Peter (Jessica) Ruiz of Palm Coast.  Peter had 16 grandchildren, Seth Lutz, Jakob Lutz, Hannah Butterworth, Alexis Palencia Aleman, Jersee Ruiz Milby, Austin Riese, Samuel Riese, Harrison Niederer, Gracelynn Niederer, Jacob Rogus, Ivan Williams, Isaac Williams, Issabella Williams, Abigail Bacon, Kayden Ruiz, Konner Ruiz and 1 great-grandchild, Liam Palencia Aleman. Brothers Larry Wayne Hicks of Palm Coast, Gilbert (Donna) Garcia of Las Vegas, Craig (Jeanette) Garcia of Hammond, Sisters, Toni (Gary) Sena of Hammond, Yolanda (Romeo) Herrera of Munster and Amber (Gabe) Polo of Hammond and several nieces and nephews. Peter worked as a service technician for Delta Plumbing and enjoyed fishing, the beach and spending time with family and friends.  A memorial service was held in Florida on Sunday, September 23rd and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Lincoln Center in Highland from 3 – 6pm.
