Virginia May (Murray) Farinelli

Virginia May Farinelli of Gary, IN was born on March 12, 1929 in Alpena, Michigan and was a long-time resident of East Chicago, IN.  She went to her heavenly rest on April 14, 2018.  Virginia is preceded in death by husband, Furi Farinelli in 1993; sons, Joseph and Robert Filipiak; parents, Charles and Delima Murray; 2 sisters and 4 brothers.  She is survived by her children:  Virgil (Helen) Courneya, Glaria Sheffler, Mary Ann (Les) Howard, Charles Farinelli and Betty (Mike) Najam (nee Farinelli); cousin, Jannet Murray Dommer; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Mary Church, 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, IN with Rev. Theodore J. Mens officiating.  Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation will be on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN and on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass at Church on Friday morning.
