Adelina (Hernandez) Casas

Adelina Casas, age 73 of East Chicago, IN passed away Monday, September 18, 2023.  She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Rafael Casas; 3 children: Mauro Casas, Laura (Fernando) Padilla and Rafael Casas, Jr.; 7 grandchildren: Ashley Ailee Padilla, Emily Padilla, Alexis Casas, Gabriel Casas, Mario Casas, Christian Casas and Rafael Casas III; 6 siblings, numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Rosendo Hernandez and Guadalupe Fierros.     

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at St. Mary Church, Indianapolis Blvd. at 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Julio C. Bedoya officiating.  Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.  Visitation will be at St. Mary Church on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

Adelina was a faithful woman; attending church daily; and involved in numerous church groups.  She loved to pray the Rosary with family and friends and was a self-less, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; loved by everyone she came across and loved everyone as her own family.  She loved spending time with family and friends, shopping, going out to eat, drinking coffee and sitting outside on her porch and watering her plants.  Her family and friends will truly miss her.  To send an online condolence, logon to: www.fifefuneralhome.com
