Alfonso R. Martinez was born on April 20, 1958 to Julia Martinez in Brownsville, TX. Alfonso gave his life to Jesus when brother, Alfonso Casares guided him to Christ in 1995. He was a member fo Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostal in East Chicago, IN with Pastor Israel (Sara) Ramos for many years. He then left for El Paso, TX and lived there for 10 years. He then returned to Indiana to become an active member of Pentecostal Church with Pastor Esteban (Maggie) Perez. His testimony became an example to many lives. Today he leaves us being an example to all his family and friends that nothing is impossible for God.
He leaves behind one sister, Elvira (Macario) Salinas and one brother, Jose L. (Rebecca) Madrigal; 2 children, Alfonso (Lindsey) Martinez and Lisa Cuevas; 2 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Julia Martinez; brothers, Servando Madrigal, Ricardo Martinez and Benjamin Ortiz; sister, Guadalupe Zurita.
Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, September 25, 2020 with Pastor Esteban Perez officiating. (FACE MASKS and SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED). Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
