Alonso Luna Soto 1955– 2026
Alonso Luna Soto, age 70, from Rancho Nuevo, GTO Mexico passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was surrounded by the immense love of his family, departing exactly as he had wished.
Alonso’s life was defined by the earth he worked and the family he grew. After immigrating from Mexico, he dedicated himself to providing a better life for those he loved. Though he faced the loss of his mother at a young age, he transformed that loss into a lifetime of giving and learning how to nurture. He will be remembered for his unwavering resiliency, giving heart strong will and a great sense of humor that could light up any room.
Alonso was the husband of Maria Luz Aguado, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a foundation that will sustain his legacy: his loving daughters, Delia Luna (Hugo Ramirez) and Elena Luna (Jose de Jesus Magallanes); and his unwavering son, Alonzo (Olga Valladolid) Luna Jr.
His greatest joy and truest form of self-expression was his passion for gardening, which he treated as his personal fine art. He found deep fulfillment in planting seeds in the soil, nurturing them as they grew, and harvesting the food they produced. Whether at his own home or surprising his children with unexpected additions to their gardens, he went to extraordinary lengths—any day of the week—to ensure every plant received proper care. The more abundant the harvest, the greater his excitement and happiness, fueling a quiet, profound contentment that defined him.
He was the adoring grandfather to eight grandchildren who were the pride of his life: Antonio Magallanes, Eric Ramirez, Monica Magallanes, Arianna Magallanes, Citlali Luna, Isaac Luna, Alexandra Magallanes, and Xavier Luna.
Alonso is also survived by his siblings: sisters Josefina (Luna) and Lucia (Luna) Rosas; and brothers Abel Luna Soto, Carlos Luna Soto, Mayolo Luna Soto, and Juan Villagomez Soto, along with many aunts , uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Audelia Soto Piña and Juan Luna Rodriguez.
