Andrea "Baby" Flores

Andrea “Baby” Flores, age 71 of East Chicago, Indiana passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones.  Andrea is survived by 3 daughters:  Angie (Jennifer) Flores, Perla Flores, and Alicia Zacarias; 11 grandchildren:  Carina Rodriguez, Christina (Jesse) Sandoval, Alexandra Rodriguez, and Anthony Rodriguez; Joslyn Urena, Jacquelyn Urena, Sophia Urena, and Sabrina Urena; Richard Zacarias, Brandon Zacarias, and Raymond Zacarias; 7 great grandchildren:  Iyan Sandoval, Liyana Sandoval, Aviana Rodriguez, Ezekiel Lopez, RJ Zacarias, Francisco Zacarias, and Azreala Zacarias; 1 sister, Rose Mundo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by her parents: Rodolfo Flores, Sr. and Amalia Villarruel; brothers:  Rodolfo Flores II, George “Gunner” Flores, Julio Flores, and Ruben “Bencho” Flores; and nephew, Jordan Flores.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Prayer Services at 7:30 pm with Pastor Mario Uvalle officiating.  Private Cremation to follow.

Andrea was a life-long resident of Indiana Harbor, or as she would say "Guadala Harbor" - The City she loved.  She was an East Chicago Washington Senator, Class of 1970 graduate.

Andrea was a mother, daughter, sister, friend and a true definition of a servant.  She served her family, her community, her city and anyone who had a need.  Serving others was her sole purpose in life.

During her life-time she worked at the Roberto Clemente Center and volunteered with many organizations including Union Benefica Mexicana (UBM), United Citizens Organization, Citizens in Action, Big Brothers-Big Sisters of America and was a huge supporter of many local political leaders.

Andrea loved being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren.  She loved sharing memories and creating new ones.  She had a heart of gold and with her genuine love and kindness she left her imprint on the hearts of many.  She was loved by so many near and far.  People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
