Anna (Mojica) Alvarez

Anna (Mojica) Alvarez, age 64 of Indianapolis, IN formerly of East Chicago and Gary, IN passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 after a four year battle with cancer.  She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Orlando Alvarez; 2 children, Orlando Kelly Alvarez and Maisey Lee (Gabriel) Alvarez; 7 brothers and 7 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Julia (Ortiz Ruiz) Mojica.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Julio C. Bedoya officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Friday morning.

Anna was an employee of the School City of East Chicago for 25 years in the Special Education Department where she loved working with her students and watching them grow.  She love drawing, painting, music, arts and crafts, gardening and potting plants.  She was very religious and devoted to her Catholic faith.   Anna was a great wife and mother who loved spending time her children and siblings.  She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
