Arnaldo Madera Torres

Arnaldo "Nando" Madera Torres, aged 71, passed away on June 21, 2024, in Hammond, Indiana. Born on September 26, 1952, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Nando was known for his dedication and strength, both in his personal life and during his over 30-year tenure at Inland Steel.

Nando was a man of deep familial love and commitment. He cherished moments spent with his family, whether it was fishing or simply enjoying each other's company. His kindness and strong spirit were evident in every aspect of his life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa, and their children: Julie, Denise, Susie, Yari, Maricelis, Arnaldo Jr., and Juan Carlos. His legacy also lives on through his nieces, nephews, 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his brothers Hiram and Pabin, and sister,.Francisca (Paca). His family was the joy of his life. Nando was preceded in death by his parents, Pablos Madera and Julia Torres, and his siblings on his mother’s side, Tomasa, Johnny, Rafael, and on his father’s side Victor (Santo).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN.  Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Tuesday morning. To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
