Benjamin Montemayor

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Benjamin Montemayor who left us on March 17, 2025 at the age of 89.  Benjamin was a retired welder for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Married for over fifty seven years. He was a man with a big heart, an infectious laugh, a devoted family man and a man of God. He is preceded in death by his son Benjamin. He is survived by his loving wife Carmen. Daughter Carmen, children Matthew, Amanda and Michael, great grandchildren Matthew and Mason. Daughter Elizabeth, children Xavier, Kassandra and Tatiana, great grandchildren Xavier, Xander, and Sophia. Late Son Benjamin, granddaughter Dyanna. Daughter Angelica, children Steve, Fabian, Enrique, Jose, WiIliam, Gabriel, and Nyeli, great grandchild Steve. Numerous family members from East Chicago, Monterrey, Mexico and California.  We will forever cherish the memories of our time with him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Diego Florez officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Tuesday morning.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
