Birdie L. Dinkins

Birdie Lee Dinkins, age 67 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021.  She is survived by her son, Marcus J. Mobley; grandson, Marqus Edward Dinkins Lawrence; 3 sisters: Mary Jackson, Willye Dinkins and Annie Lee Dinkins.  Preceded in death by parents, Nathaniel and Willie Mae Dinkins; daughter, Annie Trinette Dinkins Denham (July 2021).

Birdie was a 1971 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School and she earned her Associates Degree and Bachelors Degree in Nursing.  Birdie was employed at St. Catherine Hospital (East Chicago, IN), St. Mary Mercy Hospital (Gary, IN), VA Westside Hospital, University of Chicago Hospital and other part time jobs.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN.  Burial to follow at Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 10:00 am to 11;00 am Saturday morning.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
