Carmen M. Marte

Carmen M. Marte, age 89 of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at home.  She is survived by 4 children: Elizabeth (late Ramon) Rivera, David (Kathy) Marte, Hector Marte and Awilda (Ismael) Quintanilla; 9 grandchildren: Ramon Jr. (Maritza) Rivera, Elizabeth M. Rivera, Natalie (Andy Concepcion) Rivera, Madelyn Marte, Lina Marte, Hector E. Marte, Luis A. Marte, Ismael (Dulce) Quintanilla Jr., and Julissa Quintanilla; 6 great grandchildren: Haley Reese Curry, Gabriel and Nathaniel Gonzalez, Sebastian and Phoenix Rivera, Alicia Quintanilla; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, Emiliano N. Marte (2018).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Diego Florez officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Thursday morning.
