Catalina was born in Frausto (now known and renamed as Santiago), Coahuila, Mexico

She cherished road trips with her beloved husband, especially to the Dunes, Miller Beach, Wolf Lake, and the Preserves on the Illinois side. She had a true gift for hospitality and found great joy in cooking and entertaining, always welcoming family and friends with a warm smile and an open heart. She also had a remarkable ear for listening, offering comfort, wisdom, and steady support to her friends and family whenever they needed it.

While raising her children, she created a home filled with love and laughter. Some of her family’s most treasured memories were made at cookouts, summer swims, winter sledding adventures, and many rounds around the table of playing dominoes and Lotería.

She found joy in tending to her garden every spring and summer, faithfully watching all of her recorded novelas and dancing with the love of her life. Nothing filled her heart more than being present for her grandchildren’s moments, big and small, always with a full heart and endless encouragement.
