Consuelo O. (Ortega) Castaneda

Consuelo O. Castaneda, age 91 of East Chicago, IN passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at home.  She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Eliseo Castaneda; sister, Bertha (late Arthur) Gross; many nieces, nephews and godchildren.  Preceded in death by her parents, Rufino and Emilia Ortega.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Diego Florez officiating.  Private cremation to follow.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Friday morning.

Connie retired from Inland Steel Company, she was a former employee of the School City of East Chicago, and a secretary for the Lake County Clerk's Office. She was a member of the Guadalupanos at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  In lieu of flowers donations to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church would be appreciated.
