David A. Coakley, age 66 of Hammond, IN formerly of Slag Valley in Chicago, IL was called home to glory Monday, March 30, 2020. He is survived by his brother, Robert Coakley; sisters: Nancy Coakley Sanchez, Carol Harris Granados, and Linda M. Sanchez; nephews and niece: Christopher Coakley, Nicholas Harris, Mario Sanchez, William Granados, Victor Sanchez and Crystal Sanchez; great nieces and nephews: Lykan Harris, Christopher Coakley, Kylie Chavez, Christian Rios and Caitlyn Rios. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Kenneth Coakley and Doris Nancy Coakley (nee Withington).
David was a former employee of Lowery Brothers in South Chicago, IL. He was a lover of model trains and was a member and Past President of Ridge Model Railroaders. “You are loved and will be missed until we all meet again”.
Funeral services will be private (not because of David’s wishes but because of COVID-19) and interment will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago, IL. FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN in charge of arrangements.
