David "Big Dave" Guadalupe Lopez

David Guadalupe “Big Dave” Lopez, age 62, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at home.  David is survived by  three children:  Tiffany R. Lopez, David A. (Armandina T. Moreno) Lopez, Sr., and Krystal M. (Carlos) Moreno; mother, Cecelia Lopez; six grandchildren: Darius “DJ” Moreno, Adda Moreno, Patricia Moreno and David R. Moreno, Cecelia “Cece” Lopez, and David A. Lopez, Jr.; siblings: Jacqueline (Enrique) Campos and Jack Lopez; nieces:  Jennifer (Miguel) Peña and Erica Campos; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his father, Ezequiel Jack Lopez; and the mother of his children and former wife, Adda (Almazan) Lopez.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana with Rev. Ted Nordquist, officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana with Military Honors. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Dave was a United States Army Veteran. Originally from the Brunswick area of Gary; Dave worked as a mechanic for many years.  He was always willing to help people and was a devoted grandfather. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan; and enjoyed bowling at Tri-City and Plaza Lanes.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
