Dionicio "Jose" Perez Corona

Dionicio “Jose” Perez Corona, age 82 of Merrillville, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Guillermina Perez; 7 children: Jose Eleno Perez Mata, Angelica (Jorge) Grimaldo, Carol Perez Mata, Mauricio Perez Mata, Sandra (Bernardino) Perea, Monica Elias and Sylvia Perez; 10 grandchildren: Salvador, Alejandro, Gerardo, Anayeli, Andrea, Michelle, Ariana “Luli”, Mason, Bernie and Petey; 1 great granddaughter; brother, Juan; sisters: Ernestina, Elia and Rosa; nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents, Eleno and Leonor Perez.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Church, 3802 Grand Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Carlos Sosa officiating.  Private cremation to follow.

Jose was a member of Laborer’s Union Local #81 for over 20 years.  He was a loving husband, father and doting grandfather. Jose was very devout to his faith and Our Lady of Guadalupe.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
