Emeterio “Tito” Jimenez, Jr., age 83 of Hammond, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away suddenly Friday, October 23, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jimenez (nee Blanco); loving children: Frank (Patricia) Jimenez, Sandra (Alex) Garza, Ricky Jimenez and late Anthony “Tony” Jimenez; 9 grandchildren: Frankie, David (Rebecca), Justin and Jay Jimenez, Susan (Mark) Gonzalez and Noah Garza, Gina (Saul) Avila, Ricky, Jr. (Hayley) Jimenez and Evan Jimenez; 14 great grandchildren: Emeterio, Alycia and Cayden Jimenez, Alaina, Jordan and Skye Garza, Marcelo Gonzalez, Ella, Drew and Xavier Avila, Savana, Rylan, Ricky and Cristian Jimenez; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Emeterio, Sr. and Estefana Jimenez; siblings: Maria Luisa, Alfredo, Hector and Olga Jimenez; son, Emeterio David; grandson, Alex, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 808 West 150th Street, East Chicago, IN with Msgr. John Siekierski officiating. Entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of Mass at the Church on Saturday morning. **(MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED)**.
Emeterio was proud of being from Laredo, TX. He retired from Ashland Chemical Company. He loved Tejano music, playing his saxophone with his band “Amigos” as well as dancing with his wife, Mary. Emeterio liked joking around, he was an avid baseball fan, especially watching his Chicago Cubs but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Please Omit Flowers.
