Ernesto Santos

Ernesto Santos, age 63 of East Chicago, IN was born March 17, 1960 and passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at home.  He is survived by 3 daughters: Priscilla McCoy, Ernestina (Marc) Serros and Lupe Pineda; 9 grandchildren: Jason, Javier and Gianna, Melina, Marc, Jr. and Lucia, Noel, Leana and Desirae; mother, Eloise (Vasquez) Soto; Ernesto was the youngest of 12 siblings: late Santos (late Lupe) Santos, late Candelario ‘Lalo” (Antonia) Santos, late Edward Santos, late Linda (Jerry) Marko, Maria Santos, John Alan Santos, Dale (Mildred) Santos, Arthur Santos, late Jose Maria Santos, Anthony Santos and Carmen (late Walter) Santos; numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Ben.  Preceded in death by his father, Candelario Santos.

Ernesto was a physically strong man who had a mean right hook, he enjoyed boxing, music, lifting weights, playing basketball and going to the beach.  He was a cool guy and understood life.  He was a hero to some and impacted many people’s lives.  Ernesto was loved and will never be forgotten and he will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church, 808 West 150th Street, East Chicago, IN with Msgr. John Siekierski officiating.  Private cremation to follow.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Saturday morning.
