Esmeralda "Esie" (Vidaurri) Gutierrez

Esmeralda “Esie” Gutierrez (nee Vidaurri), age 58 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026.  She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Alfonso Gutierrez; 4 children: Alfonso (Stephanie) Vidaurri, Hermalinda (Jose, Jr.) Alvarez, Alexis (Ricky Lopez) Gutierrez, and Gabriel Vidaurri; grandchildren: Jose, Anthony, Abby,  Eliseo, Cecilia, Ricky, Lilly, Logan, Jeremy, Sonny, Yari, and JR; siblings: Estella (John) Jackson, late Elizabeth Vidaurri, Elsa (Ambrocio) Hernandez, Narcisco (Martha) Vidaurri, Edward (Charlene) Vidaurri, Eliberto Vidaurri, Edgar Vidaurri, and Luis Antonio Perez; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her mother, Maria H. Vidaurri.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:00 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Terry Steffens officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am on Saturday morning.
