Esperanza (Paz) Galvan

Esperanza Galvan, age 74 of Hammond, IN passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022.  She is survived by 2 sons, Anthony (Christina) Paz and Felix (Lisa) Galvan; 5 grandchildren: Anthony (Morgan) Paz, Jr., Marisa Paz, Adam Galvan, Xavier Paz and Olivia Galvan; 1 great grandson, Anthony Paz III; siblings: Anna Maria (Alfonso) Moreno, Luis Paz, Jr., late Juanita (Simon) Trevino, late Henry (Janice) Paz, Magdalen (Santos, Jr.) Corpus, late Violet (Francisco) Plaza, late Blanca (Marcelino) Cuevas and Estella Mata; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her loving husband, Salvador Sanchez Novoa; parents, Luis and Mary (Andrade) Paz.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Msgr. John Siekierski officiating.  Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Friday morning.

Esperanza retired from the Hammond Housing Authority, she was a lifelong resident of Hammond and East Chicago and a 1966 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School.  Esperanza was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and  she loved talking to her sisters and brothers.
