Francisco "Art" A. Romero

Francisco A. “Arturo” Romero, age 76, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 surrounded by his family.  Art is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dolores; three children:  Marcella (Alex) Long, Frances (Abel) Zavala, and Cesar Romero; four grandchildren:  Isaac Romero, Jacob Romero, Mia Romero and Cecilia Long; one great granddaughter, Macy Romero; four brothers:  Joel (Rosemary) Romero, George Romero, Ricardo (Pamela) Romero and Hector (Leticia) Romero; one sister, Evelia (Michael) Kohlman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by son, Ricardo Romero; parents:  Francisco and Maria Luisa Romero.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. American Legion Allied Post #369 will conduct military service at 5:30 pm and Fr. Selvaraj will hold prayer service at 6:00 pm on Tuesday.

Art retired from LTV Steel Company after 49 years of service. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church in East Chicago, IN.  Art enjoyed listening to classic oldies, motown and mexican ranchera music, and fixing cars, drawing, painting and gardening.  He loved spending time with family and friends, especially in his later years, watching his great grand nephew, Gio.  To send an online condolence, logon to: www.fifefuneralhome.com
