Gladys Baez Puente

Gladys Baez Puente, age 77 of East Chicago, IN left this world suddenly on Tuesday, September 12, 2024.  She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She was born to the late Melton Baez and Carlita (Infante) on May 12, 1947 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Gladys is survived by her children: Arthur I. Vega, Anthony L. (Aracelli) Vega Sr. and Michael C. (Vanessa) Vega Sr.;  she was a loving grandmother to Anthony Vega Jr., Jacquelyn A. Vega, Parker King, Christopher Vega, Mike Vega Jr. and Tatiana Nieves; great grandson, Carmelo Ledesma, cherishing every moment she spent with them; loving siblings: Louie Baez of Schererville, IN and Olga Colon of Bronz, NY will remember her as a supportive and loving sister.  Preceded in death by her husband, Miguel Puente; and brothers: Manuel Baez and Tito Baez.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.  Private cremation to follow.  Rev.
