Guillermina B. Perez

Guillermina B. Perez, age 73 of Merrillville, IN formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021.  She is survived by 3 children: Sandra (Bernardino) Perea, Monica Elias and Sylvia Perez; 4 grandchildren: Ariana “Luli”, Mason, Bernie and Petey; 3 sisters: Teresa, Concepcion and Amparo; 2 brothers, Santiago and Preciliano; nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, Dionicio Perez Corono (March 2021); parents, Elojio Virelas and Dionicia Segura; sister, Mayito; brothers, Pedro and Adan.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on  Wednesday, April 14, 2021 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3502 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Ivan Carrillo officiating.  Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.

Guillermina was a devout catholic to the Lord and St. Jude.  She was a mother of officially 3 but a loving 2nd mother to many.  She would light up any room when she walked in. Her laughter, her smile and flirtatious eyes are irreplaceable.  You weren't a stranger for long once you met her.  You became "mijo" or "mija" within minutes of meeting her.  Guillermina loved planting in her garden and cleaning her house, “her house was spotless”.
