Hermila Salcedo Gonzalez

Hermila Salcedo Gonzalez, age 81 formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away Friday, September 12, 2025.  She is survived by 4 children: Elizabeth Gonzalez, Cesar (Lupita) Gonzalez, Jose A. (Blanca) Gonzalez, and Alejandro (Erin) Gonzalez; 6 grandchildren: Cesar Aaron Gonzalez, Sofia Isabel Gonzalez, Luca Esteban Gonzalez, Paz Amalia Gonzalez, Sebastian William Gonzalez, and Lydia Deborah Gonzalez; many brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, Jose R.Gonzalez (2021). 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Sepember 20, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Terry Steffens officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Saturday morning.  The Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home on Friday at 6:00 pm.

Hermila was a member of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting and spending time with her beloved friends and neighbors.
