Irene Mary Ortega

Irene Mary Ortega, age 84, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025.  Irene is survived by four children:  Alfonso (fiancé, Teresa Fuentes) Ortega, Jr., Estella Bribiesca, Belinda (David) Colon and Christina (Thomas McNichols) Ortega; grandchildren:  Alonzo (Vanessa Rodriguez) Ortega, Alicia Ortega, Alfonso Ortega, Anthony Bribiesca, David Colon, and Melina Colon; numerous great grandchildren; brothers:  Robert Flores, Joe Flores, and Richard Flores; sisters:  Lupe Luera, Juanita Flores, and Patricia Flores; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by husband, Alfonso Ortega; son, Daniel Ortega; siblings: Juan, Helena, Chuche and Maggie.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 8:45 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana, with Deacon Ray Helfen officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral services on Friday from 7:00 am to 8:45 am at the funeral home.  Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana.
