Irma Y. Duarte

Irma Y. Duarte, age 70 of Hammond, IN passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025.  She is survived 4 children: Ana Haro, Francisco Duarte, Anibal Duarte, and Edgar J. Gonzalez; son in-law, Jose Haro Huerta; 7 grandchildren: Marisol Haro, Jose Haro Jr., Luna Haro, Max Haro and 3 more; siblings: late Feliciano Duarte (1976), late Obdulio Rodas (2023), late Victor Hugo Rodas (2024, Silvia Duarte, Dora Rodas, Luis Alberto Rodas, Elvia Marina Rodas Rodas, and Juan Carlos Rodas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Pastors Angel and Yajaira Ruiz officiating.  Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  VIsitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am on Friday morning.

Proverbs 31:10  -  Because its esteem far surpasses that of precious stones.  You surpassed the precious stones, our little mother.  

She was an excellent mother, grandmother and sister.  She was a woman of God.  She lived her life as an extremely hard-working woman and made a great effort to ensure that her children were well.  An exemplary mother who brought her children forward.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing brain teasers and she loved to cook.  She will be remembered by her entire family.
