Jerry "Baby G" G. Garcia

Jerry G. “Baby G” Garcia, age 47, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024.  Jerry is survived his father, George Garcia; sister, MaryAnn (Richard) Chabes; brother, Robert (fiancé, Cynthia) Garcia; daughter, Victoria Miranda; granddaughters: Angel and Lilyana; nieces and nephews:  Richard, Jr., Angelique, Joey, Vanessa, Airana, Angelo, Daniel, Robert, Jr., and Jocelyn; and numerous aunts and uncles.  Preceded in death by mother, Diana V. Garcia; grandparents: Jose and Bonifacia Guardiola; great grandmother, Antonia Lumbreras.; and uncles:  Danny and Johnny Guardiola.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana.  Fr. Terry Steffens will say prayers at 3:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.  Private cremation to follow.

To know Jerry was to know true joy.  He was always laughing, making jokes and talking all the good smack.  He loved his family so much; he believed in family more than anyone we know.  He would give the shirt off his back to the next person if he could.  He loved his free-style music, cooking on his grill and of course his Chicago Cubs.  There was never a time that you could ask him for a favor and he wouldn’t be able to help.  He stepped up as a father and grandfather; he sacrificed so much to care for others.  If you had the pleasure of knowing him, then you had the privilege to love him.  He was a loyal, kind and loving friend.  His presence will never be replaced, but his memory will live strong in all of us.  Until we meet again…..
