Joaquin Cedeño Osorno, age 79 of East Chicago, IN passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025.
With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Joaquin Cedeño Osorno, who departed this life on April 20, 2025, just days shy of his 80th birthday.
Born in Puebla, Mexico, on April 28, 1945, Joaquin brought with him a spirit of joy, resilience, and unwavering optimism wherever life took him. For many years, he made his home in the warm and vibrant community of East Chicago, Indiana, where he built a legacy rooted in love, laughter, and family.
Joaquin leaves behind his devoted wife, Margarita Martinez, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and love. He is survived by his 15 children, a multitude of cherished grandchildren, and countless family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply. Known for his ever-present smile and positive outlook, Joaquin was the heart of many gatherings—always ready with a joke, a story, and his signature dance moves. A gifted cumbia dancer, he brought energy and light to every celebration. To be in Joaquin’s presence was to feel warmth, to laugh freely, and to be reminded of the joy in everyday life.
His memory will live on in the laughter he inspired, the love he gave, and the family he raised. We will carry his spirit with us always—his cheerful demeanor, his boundless optimism, and his ability to make everyone feel at home.
We will always remember him. We will always love him.
