Joe "Jake" G. Heredia

Joe G. Heredia “Jake”, age 75, of East Chicago, IN, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022.  Jake is survived by three children:  Casey (Richard) Francis, Joe Heredia, and Mike (Jen) Heredia; grandchildren:  Jacob, Charlie, and Aubrey; mother, Maria Heredia; sisters:  Irma Heredia, Lyd (late Danny) Victory, Cris Heredia, Rosie (Rick) Czyz, and Lisa Heredia; brother-in-law, Donald Peter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by his father, Jose V. Heredia; sister, Gloria Mendoza; brothers:  Al Heredia and Ruben Heredia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN.  Private cremation to follow.

Jake retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a Purchasing Agent; a 1964 graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School; Jake was a Marine Corp Veteran; he was an avid fan of East Chicago basketball and also was a basketball referee.  Jake will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
