John L. Morris II, “Boo”, age 45, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away on Friday August 22, 2025 at Community Hospital in Munster. He is survived by his five children: Alyssa Morris, Antonio Galvan, John L. Morris III, Xavier Morris, and Jozlyn Morris; mother: Virginia Morris; siblings: Michael Morris, Jennifer (Jacob) Belaskas, and Julia Belaskas; his nephew and niece: Michael Morris Jr. and Sophia Belaskas-Reding; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones. He is preceded in death by his father: John L. Morris I; grandparents: Pedro (Maria) Perez, John H. Morris, and Hope Gill; as well as many cousins and other loved ones.
John was loved by many throughout his life and had countless friends and people who he cared for and who cared for him. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, his laughter was contagious and his outgoing personality was ongoing and joyous. His other nickname was “BooGyver”, because he could fix just about anything. Your car, your house, whatever anyone needed he made sure he was available to help.
He loved fishing, floating down the river with his family and friends, camping, traveling, and telling stories. He enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows with his sons. He was well known for his love of muscle cars.
He worked with the Laborers Union Local #41 for 15 years. He was a hard worker and dedicated to his work.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana. Private Crematin to follow.
