Johnanna “Annie” Scziglak (nee Matelski), age 65, of Whiting, Indiana, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Annie was the devoted daughter of the late John and Carol Matelski; cherished wife of Frank Myrosznyczenko; loving mother of Joseph (late Karen) Scziglak and Jaclyn Tiemens (Steve Bradich); and proud grandmother of Dezeray and David Wells. She was the beloved sister of Gayla (Albert) Davis, the late Cheryl Matelski, John Matelski and Catheryn Matelski. Annie was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her love and kindness.
Annie was a proud graduate of Whiting High School. She loved playing bingo and never missed an opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. Her vibrant personality was truly unforgettable. She had a remarkable ability to put a smile on anyone’s face and always seemed to know what was going on. Her quick wit, warm heart, and infectious sense of humor made every gathering brighter. Annie shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Bennie, who was truly the center of her world and brought her endless love and companionship.
In honor of Annie, her immediate family will have a private ceremony on August 9, 2026, to celebrate her memory. Although she is no longer with us, Annie’s love, laughter, and legacy will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
