Jorge Aponte

Jorge Aponte, age 94, of Whiting Indiana, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025.  Jorge is survived by his 2 children:  David (Janice) Aponte and Robert (Denise) Aponte.  9 Grandchildren: Melissa Aponte, George (Nicole) Aponte, Matthew (Anngelik) Aponte, Justin Guettner, Jeremy Aponte, Jason Aponte, Shannon (Austin) McClure, Hunter Aponte, and Lucas Aponte.  Several great grandchildren,  many siblings, nieces and nephews and compadres.  Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lydia Aponte; his son, George Aponte Jr.;  and son, Wilfred Aponte.

Jorge worked for Beatrice Foods until retirement.  He went on to work security for Showboat Casino.  Jorge enjoyed watching the White Sox but his true love was watching Wrestling.  He enjoyed home projects, yard work and spending time with family and friends.  He also loved playing a good game of dominoes.
