Jose "Joey" Blanco

Jose “Joey” Blanco, age 84 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023.  He is survived by siblings: Mary (late Tito) Jimenez, Rose (late Felix) Vasquez, Frances (Alberto) Minjarez, Lupe Blanco, Robert (late Jean) Blanco and Armando (Carmen) Blanco; special niece, Becky Sanchez; many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his wife, Clemencia (Montalvo) Blanco; parents, Eleuterio and Hilaria Blanco; siblings: David Blanco, Connie Urbina, Linda Adair and Ricardo Blanco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street with Rev. Jan Krutewicz officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home Tuesday morning. The American Legion will conduct military honors at the graveside on Tuesday morning.
