Jose N. Olvera

Jose N. Olvera, age 59 of Chicago, IL passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026.  He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Phyllis M. (Quiroz) Olvera; 4 children: Maximino (Ashley) Esparza, Martin Esparza, Josephine Olvera, and Jacklyn (Mercedes) Olvera; 13 grandchildren; 6 siblings: Vera (Phillip) Champion, Laura Olvera, Ruben (Melissa) Olvera, Teresa (Jaime) Sanchez, Angel (Romelia) Coronado, and Erica (Jimmy) Stuman; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents, Jose Olvera and Agapita Arias.

Jose was a family man, his favorite holiday was the “Fourth of July”, and he loved to cook and have cookouts and bonfires. 

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 24, 2026.  Private cremation to follow. Rev. Terry Steffens will hold services at 4:30 pm on Friday.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
