Jose Roberto "Beto" Avila Cervantes

Jose Roberto “Beto” Avila Cervantes, age 62 of Hammond, IN passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at home.  He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sarai Aguilar; 6 children: Luis Fernando, Stephanie, Christian, Steven, Kassandra, and Sarai; grandchildren: Mateo, Natalie, Victoria, Leonardo, Carmi, Demi, Liam and Logan; many brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Luis Avila and Maria de la Luz Cervantes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Diego Florez officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Friday morning.
