Jose de Jesus Murillo Rojas

Jose (“Chuy”) de Jesus Murillo Rojas, age 73, of East Chicago (Marktown), passed away Monday April 3, 2023.  Jose is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marta Murillo; children:  Jose "Pepe Chuy" (Lorena) Murillo, Jaime Murillo, Jorge (Marisol) Murillo, Joel Murillo, and Julio Murillo; grandchildren: Jacqueline A. Fernández, Jazmine Murillo, Jaime Murillo, Jr., Joel A. Murillo, Priscilla Murillo, Yvonnie M. Murillo, Dariana M. Murillo, Jorge E. Murillo, Julius C. Murillo, Julian Murillo, Viviana Murillo, Ariadtna Murillo, Marisabella Murillo, Leonardo Murillo, and Tatiana Murillo; and 10 great grandchildren.  Mother, Paula Rojas Guerra; father, Jose de Jesus Murillo; siblings:  Magdalena Esquivel (Nena), Berta Segura Murillo, Gloria Murillo, Amparo Murillo (Adalberto), Antonio (Leticia) Murillo, Carmen Murillo, Paula Murillo, Ernesto (Maribel) Murillo, Rosa Murillo, Guadalupe Murillo, Angel Murillo and Eduardo Murillo.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana with Funeral Service at 4:00 pm with Rev. Doug Mayer, officiating. Private cremation to follow.  Burial will be in Mexico at a later date.

Jose “Chuy” was a strong, dedicated man beloved by all who knew him.  He was a dedicated employee of Inland Steel Company (Cleveland Cliffs) where he gave over 30 years of his life to give his family a better life.  Chuy enjoyed talking about his life when he was younger and his career; he loved old Hispanic movies.  If you ever asked for his help he did not hesitate to help in any way he could.  His family and friends will miss him very much.  To send an online condolence, please logon to: www.fifefuneralhome.com
